In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)
How often do you think about the richness of your forgiveness? Is God’s forgiveness something you have come to take advantage of? Has it become something that is of little practical significance for you? I certainly hope not!
Realization of our forgiveness in Christ causes us to go back and look at who we once were before Christ. I understand that for some it is incredibly painful thought to see how despicable they once were, it is that way for me… But those who were once despicable will tell you that they can really understand how rich forgiveness is in Christ.  As Paul also realized, only a former God hater can appreciate the extreme sacrifice that it took to cleanse them from their extreme sin.
Many Christians needlessly bear a heavy load of guilt, always trying to earn God’s favor and forgiveness.  How can I make it any clearer than has already been said? Because of grace and forgiveness there is no more debt of sin to be paid. God will exact no fee from us; the debt has already been paid in full.
“And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin. Hebrews 10:17-18 (NASB)

This should be the catalyst to worship God in awe and reverence and not out of fear. Once we see a fraction of how great a debt has been paid, the spiritual response should be worship! Of course we stand in amazement of who God is, and rightly tremble at His awesome power and might! However to cower in fear and terror before Him denies the significance of what Jesus has done for us by His death on the cross.

Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh… let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith.. Hebrews 10:19,22 (NASB)

It is my passion to help a counselee grow in the understanding they are forgiven by grace, and help them realize that grace has set them free from the chains of performing, and attempting to earn forgiveness.
