Cheerleaders Wanted

I recently had the opportunity to cheer on my soon-to-be daughter-in-law in her very first marathon. She had trained for months for the event, and was so excited to be in the race. My husband and I cleared our schedule far in advance of that day so that we could trace her route and move along it, staying just enough ahead of her that we would be ready to shout and cheer as she ran past. Is Small Talk Worthwhile?

Maybe you are an introvert like me, and you just don’t want to put yourself out there. You’re not willing to be vulnerable in this way. Maybe you are of the mindset that you don’t have time for any more friends, so you keep your eyes on the horizon as you walk through the halls at church, and you breathe a sigh of relief when you make it to the car without being stopped.
